Meet the trustees: five questions for Margaret

Margaret Holroyd has chaired the board of trustees since 2019, and has been involved with the hall in one role or another since her kids were in the Scout group that still meets here every week. We caught up with her after last month's committee meeting.

"People think being a trustee is all spreadsheets and roof quotes," she told us, "and honestly, some weeks it really is. But then you walk past on a Wednesday and there's a Stay & Play session in full swing, or the drumming group's spilling out the door, and you remember why you signed up."

Asked what she'd say to anyone thinking about joining the committee: "Come to one meeting. Just one. You don't have to commit to anything — we just need people who care about the building as much as we do."
