The original 1920s deed

Tucked in a deed box that survived multiple changes of trustees over the decades is the hall's original conveyance — the paperwork that first set the land aside for the village's use.

It's exactly as dry and exactly as remarkable as you'd expect: dense legal copperplate, a wax seal, and a description of the plot boundaries that still matches the building's footprint almost a century later.

We're having it professionally scanned and conserved rather than photographed on a phone, so this one will take a little longer than most — but it'll go up here in full once it's done.
